The Federal Reserve is currently in search of a Network Security Analyst III. This position will serve as senior analyst on a team that executes responsibilities related to network security, firewall, application design and risk assessment. Responsibilities will include servicing firewall and network boundary requests, translating security vulnerabilities into risk-based business recommendations, providing strategic advice and guidance in the design and implementation of security control methods to mitigate security vulnerabilities. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: - Perform the analysis, assessment and approval of firewall security change requests. Ensure that changes imposing additional risk to the network enterprise are documented and accepted by accountable parties. - Perform security risk assessments on changes to network design. - Perform threat modeling analysis to ensure accepted risks are properly understood and accepted by accountable parties. - Provide security consultation with customers for network and application designs. - Assist enterprise with firewall configuration management documentation. - Contribute to the implementation of policies, procedures, standards and safeguards to maintain proper levels of security in network. - Facilitate compliance with Information Security policy. - Contribute to network security architecture planning and standards development. - Assess network and application designs for vulnerabilities and compliance with architecture. - Maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art security technology, equipment and/or systems through independent research and attending seminars. |
| Job Requirements: |
Education & Experience: - Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and job-related experience equal to 4-7 years. (preferred) - Certifications preferred: CISSP, SANS, GIAC or similar certification. Knowledge & Skills: - Knowledge of TCP/IP and LAN/WAN architectures and complexities surrounding large scale network deployments; network data flows, ports, protocols, and other network services/technologies; boundary technologies and concepts including Firewalls, VLANs, and proxies; information security design activities, policies, practices, and standards; security risk analysis, threat and vulnerability assessments, and risk management principles. - Candidate must have demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer support services and an aptitude to work directly with business partners to deliver quality business solutions on schedule. - Excellent negotiation, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required to lead and/or participate in work groups, prepare and present recommendations, and develop technical project documentation. - Strong and demonstratable technical, analytical, project, and leadership skills required to establish direction. - Independent Judgment/Complexity: Follows established procedures and guidelines to evaluate and analyze risks and vulnerabilities associated with new firewall change requests. |
