Job Description: Federal Reserve Information Technology Security Operations is seeking a talented, energetic System Security Analyst III to support threat and vulnerability management and computer emergency response team (CERT) functions. The ideal candidate will excel at collaborating with team members, customers and upper management of varying degrees of technical expertise. We are seeking an outstanding technician with exemplary communication skills and diplomacy.

This person will be responsible for facilitating and tracking remediation activities related to security patch management, vulnerability assessments and noncompliance with internal security specifications. This person will act as the liaison between Information Security, IT support groups, and business customer contacts for these remediation activities. The candidate will also serve as a member of the Federal Reserve Information Technology Computer Emergency Response Team. In addition, this individual will participate with the implementation of continued compliance processes to ensure that secure settings implemented for server deployment are maintained in the production environment. Further, this person will oversee the development of web based reporting tools for vulnerability management and access control.
Job Requirements: - Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to present findings and recommendations, prepare documentation, interact with management and staff levels at various levels of technical expertise.

- Customer focused, service oriented mindset, and commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

- Advanced forensic analysis capabilities including malware reverse engineering, file system forensics, network packet trace forensics, event log forensics, etc. (Ability to understand and reverse engineer web browser based attacks is a plus).

- Security certificates such as CISSP, GCIH, GCFA and GREM are a plus.

- Knowledge of web development and database languages, service oriented architecture, authentication mechanisms and security architecture.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills to facilitate resolution of technical compliance issues and to support maintenance of an effective controls environment.

- High level of initiative and ability to work effectively with minimal guidance and structure; ability to identify and pursue multiple initiatives simultaneously; ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multi-location environment.

- Job requires some extended work hours and overnight travel to attend meetings/training and respond to security events.

- Candidate must posses or be able to obtain a government security clearance.
