Added 2003-12-15
by DataRescue Inc.
The freeware version of the Interactive Disassembler Pro. Supports 80x86 binaries and FLIRT, a unique Fast Library Identification and Recognition Technology that automagically recognizes standard compiler library calls. Widely used in COTS validation and hostile code analysis.

shellforge
Added 2003-07-18
by Philippe Biondi
shellforge enables you to write shellcode programs in C. It transforms C program code into shellcode that will run on a Linux/x86 system. It provides macros to substitute libc calls with direct system calls and a Python script to automate compilation, extraction, encoding, and tests.

bannerg
Added 2002-08-06
by Guillaume Anfroy
Banner sends commands to daemons (such as Sendmail) running on a server and displays the replies. The commands are set in a config file, making it easy to add commands for new services.

SideKick
Added 2001-10-22
by Sun Microsystems, Inc.
SideKick is a tool developed to automate the collection of MD5 file signatures. SideKick can be used to collect signatures for files known to be replaced by "rootkits", files with Set-UID or Set-GID permissions in addition to several other collection methods. SideKick can optionally be used with sfpC to automated the collection and processing of MD5 file signatures. SideKick can also be used in a standalone capacity for distributed signature collection. Sidekick can be downloaded here.

StackGuard (Source Code)
Added 2001-10-22
by Immunix Project
StackGuard is a compiler approach for defending programs and systems against "stack smashing" attacks. Stack smashing attacks are the most common form of security vulnerability. Programs that have been compiled with StackGuard are largely immune to stack smashing attack. Protection requires no source code changes at all. When a vulnerability is exploited, StackGuard detects the attack in progress, raises an intrusion alert, and halts the victim program.

Stack Shield

by Vendicator
A tool that adds protection from "stack smashing" attacks at compile time without changing a line of code. Still in beta.

Hellkit
Added 2001-10-22
by Stealth
With hellkit you write your shellcodes in C, as shown in the 4 examples shipped with that package. You then run 'driver' over it and it's done! You get the output-file hellcode.c which contains the shellcode without null-bytes. Hellkit generates shellcodes with a lenght of up to 65535 (2^16 - 1) bytes.
